Native American history

The Burrillville 250 Commission will kick off a new lecture series this week with talks followed by tours of significant sites. On Tuesday, Oct. 21, visit Jesse Smith Library at 100 Tinkham Lane starting at 6 p.m. for a talk on Native Americans in Burrillville. On Saturday, Oct. 25, meet up with the group at Callahan Elementary School at 75 Callahan School St. at 10 a.m. for a tour of related sites.

Boo Bash

Jesse Smith Library at 100 Tinkham Lane will host its 5th annual Boo Bash on Thursday, Oct. 23 from 5 to 7 p.m., a free family event with games and activities on the Riverwalk, and trick or treating through the library. No registration is required, and the rain date for the event is Thursday, Oct. 30.

Haunted Gallows

There is still time to check out Burrillville’s haunted attraction at Richardson’s Sawmill before Halloween passes and it closes for the season. Visit the attraction at 505 East Ironstone Road on Friday or Saturday, Oct. 24 or 25 or on Halloween weekend with hours on Saturday. Tickets cost $30 and can be purchased in advance here.

Heathers the Musical

The Assembly Theatre at 26 East Ave. will present Heathers The Musical, based on the film written by Daniel Waters on Friday, Oct. 24; Saturday, Oct. 25; Thursday, Oct. 30 and Saturday, Nov. 1 starting at 7 p.m.; and Sundays, Oct. 26 and Nov. 2 starting at 2 p.m.

Shred Day

Rhode Island Credit Union will hold a shred day at its Pascoag branch at 60 N. Main St. on Saturday, Oct. 25 from 10 a.m. to noon. A maximum of four bags or boxes of personal documents will be accepted with no business shredding permitted. The bank will also be collecting donations for the Burrillville Weekend Snack Pack program.

Pumpkin Fest

The Downtown Pascoag & Neighborhood Association will host its annual Pumpkin Fest on Saturday, Oct. 25 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Pascoag Bridgeway. The event will feature vendors, games, surprises, trick-or-treating, and lots of jack-o’-lanterns. Visitors are invited to come dressed in costume.

Town meetings

The Burrillville 250 Commission will hold a meeting on Monday, Oct. 20 starting at 7 p.m. at the Burrillville Police Station Municipal Court at 1477 Victory Highway. The agenda is here.

The Burrillville Board of Canvassers will hold a meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 21 starting at 10 a.m. at the town building at 105 Harrisville Main St. The agenda is here.
