NORTH SMITHFIELD – Sisters Dana and Alyson Paux will soon open the doors to a new space where locals can gather, relax and recharge, with the launch of an independent coffee shop inside the former Quik Stop Deli.
The siblings, who both graduated from North Smithfield High School, got approval this week to open Revive Coffee Company at 11 Main St. in Slatersville. Open seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m., the business will sell sandwiches, baked goods and soups, along with coffee, of course.
“We totally renovated the Quick Stop location,” Dana told members of the Town Council on Monday. “It’s a more welcoming environment where you can sit down and relax.”
Dana, the older of the sisters at age 29, worked at Fuel Coffee for four years in college.
“I never worked in a coffee shop but always wanted to own my own business and am very passionate about coffee,” Alyson, age 21, told NRI NOW. “We have wanted to open a coffee shop together for a while now, but the plan was to do it in 10 years. The right opportunity came a lot sooner than we expected.”
Their new leased space inside the Commercial Block, which held the deli for years, now features comfortable seating, with tables, benches, a fireplace and a modern coffee bar.
The young entrepreneurs say they were inspired by their parents’ example. Their father, Daryl Paux, owns Paux Building while mother Nicky Paux owns Just for Dog’s Grooming on Victory Highway.
“They encourage us to take the chance to open Revive Coffee Co.,” Alyson said.
The new business will have grab and go items, along with smoothies and shakes, baked goods, breakfast sandwiches, a few lunch sandwiches, and soups.
“We also got an espresso machine so we’ve got more coffee to offer,” Alyson told the council.
Revive Coffee Company will hold a grand opening on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.
