Trail Ambassadors from the Blackstone Heritage Corridor will lead a hike at Hawkins Pond on Sunday, May 18 as part of a spring series designed for all levels of hikers. The scenic hikes are designed to explore historic sites, namely native lands, and farms and homesteads dating back to the 18th century.
The easy mile and half mile hike will feature the pond, which was created by an earthen dam along Mary Brown Brook. The dam features a waterfall and hikers will follow marked trails during the two hour walk, led by Ernie Germani starting at 9 a.m.
