GLOCESTER – A Johnston man is facing a felony charge after allegedly taking some $9,000 from his ex-girlfriend’s vehicle while she was out dining at Assados Kitchen & Bar.

Matthew Lasorsa, 33, of Victor Avenue was charged with larceny of more than $5,000 and tampering with a vehicle after the victim reported the incident on Saturday, March 8.

According to the arrest report, video footage obtained from the restaurant showed Lasorsa using a fob to enter the parked car, and then walking away with what appeared to be an envelope.

The victim told police that she had $9,305 in the glove box, money from one week of sales from her business that she planned to deposit in the bank on Monday.

Lasorsa was arrested and released on $5,000 personal recognizance and is due back in court on Monday, June 16.
