Graduation

Burrillville High School will hold a commencement ceremony for the Class of 2025 on Friday, June 6 starting at 5:30 p.m. in the June Rockwell Levy Community Rink at 425 East Ave. The event is ticketed with predetermined seating for the guests of graduates. In addition to the high school lot, parking will be available at A.T. Levy and Burrillville Middle Schools with shuttles running from 4:30 to 5:15 p.m.

Congratulations to all of the students in the Bronco Class of 2025.

Civic Leadership

Speaking of accomplished Broncos, two students in the Class of 2026, Spencer Wayland and Arrow Yuszczak, were given Civic Leadership Awards in a ceremony at the Rhode Island State House last week. The students were recognized for their independent contributions to civically educating others through leadership roles.

Wayland is a member of the BHS Student Council and Unified Club, as well as the Unified Basketball and Volleyball teams. Yuszczak is a member of Varsity Athletes Against Substance Abuse and Burrillville Prevention Action Coalition.

Bow Hunter Certification

Wallum Lake Rod & Gun Club at 200 Brook Road will be hosting the Rhode Island Division of Fish and Wildlife, Outdoor Education, Bow Hunter Certification Class on Saturday, June 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Through the Doors

The Assembly Theatre at 26 East Ave. will host live music on Saturday, June 7 from 7:30 to 10 p.m., with two premiere tribute bands to perform at the venue. The concert will feature Through the Doors, a multimedia tribute to Jim Morrison and The Doors, and Beatles tribute band Funky Submarine. Tickets cost $25 and can be purchased here.

Stuff the Gazebo

The Burrillville Lions Club will be collecting donations for the Burrillville Weekend Snack Pack program at the gazebo on Main Street in Harrisville on Sunday, June 8 from 9 a.m. to noon. The club will be accepting non-perishable foods and snacks including peanut butter, pasta, mac & cheese, and juice boxes to help provide weekend meals for some 50 Burrillville school children.

Jeeps invade Pascoag

There will be a Jeep meetup at Bravo Brewing Company at 75 Pascoag Main St. on Sunday, June 8 starting at noon. Bravo has added new food options that will be available for purchase and DJ WiseVlad will be spinning tunes.

Town meetings

The Burrillville Planning Board will hold a meeting on Monday, June 2 starting at 7 p.m. in the community room of Jesse Smith Library at 100 Tinkham Lane. The agenda is here.
