Sunday cartoon: Stay three feet away from vehicles at car shows

BURRILLVILLE – Kids should always stay at least three feet away from vehicles at area car shows and cruise nights.

With the end of the school year approaching, adults tend to take kids to weekly cruise nights and weekend car shows because their daily schedules allow them to participate with these popular automotive outdoor events across region during the summer months without many time constraints.

When taking kids to car shows make sure that they respect the show vehicles and never touch or lean on them. This could cause scratches and depending on the vehicles, cause harm to a child. Kids should never run around at car shows and an adult should monitor their movements and be aware of their surroundings in order to keep little kids safer. Show vehicles often arrive and exit car shows throughout the automotive event and this could also harm or severely injure a child not paying attention to what is happening around them. Holding their hands while walking through a car show is always the safest way to attend and avoid any unintentional injuries. Always make sure kids are safely boosted up and buckled up in backseats when cruising to or headed back home for car shows this summer season.

Whenever possible, I recommend you take a kid to a car show.
