Glocester Independence Day festivities to include fireworks, road race & parade

    The town of. Glocester has announced the schedule for this year’s 4th of July celebration, set to include the annual fireworks display, a road race and the 99th annual Ancients and Horribles Parade.

    The celebration will kick off on Friday, June 27 with music and fireworks at Glocester Memorial Park. The event will include a live performance starting at 6 p.m., with fireworks set to begin at 9 p.m. The rain date for the event is Saturday, July 12.

    On Friday, July 4, the town’s annual road race will take off at 9 a.m.

    The parade begins July 4 at 4 p.m., where everyone is invited to show off their artistic talents with their craziest outfits and most outlandish floats. Certificates will be awarded for Most Ancient & Horrible, Most Patriotic and Best Walking Group.
