BURRILLVILLE – A STEM-focused educator with a long resume of school leadership experience has been chosen to serve as the new principal at Callahan Elementary School.
Rudolph Moseley, who has led both public and private schools, and held various positions in the Burrillville School District since he was hired in 2023, will assume leadership of Callahan for the 2025/2026 school year. He replaces Principal David Brissette, who has held the title since 2006, but will leave Callahan this year to assume a role as principal at A.T. Levy Elementary School.

Moseley earned a bachelor’s in biology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1995 and a master of education from the University of Rhode Island in 2002. He completed his doctorate degree in educational leadership at Northeastern University in 2013.
He worked for the Providence Public School District from 2006 to 2011, serving as principal of Roger Williams Middle School, assistant principal at Mount Pleasant High School and K-12 supervisor of science, also holding the title of senior summer credit recovery coordinator. In the 2013/2014 school year he assumed a role as interim principal at Paul Cuffee Middle School, a city-based charter school.
From 2015 to 2018, Moseley served as executive director of a K through 12, STEM-focused charter school in Providence known as TIMES2 Inc., and from 2019 to 2022 he held the executive director role at Potential Christian Academy.
Moseley received the Margaret Schorr Memorial Scholarship in 1997, completed the Aspiring Principals Program at Providence Public Schools in 2001 and received the Urban League of Rhode Island’s Community Service Award in 2017.
In Burrillville, Moseley was hired as a biological and physical science teacher for the high school in January of 2023, and stepped in to serve as interim principal at the middle school from July of that year until June of 2024.
As an environmental science teacher at BHS over the past school year, Moseley worked with students on hands-on laboratory experiments, field studies, and project-based learning to encourage critical thinking and real-world application of environmental concepts also fostering student participation in local conservation efforts and environmental advocacy, according to his resume.
He was chosen to lead Callahan following an extensive search process that included interviews of eight candidates.
Moseley has been married to Latoya Moseley for more than 20 years and is the father of six sons. He is also the founder and pastor of the Bread of Life International Worship Center in East Providence. He is is the CEO of the Moseley Leadership Group International, the founder of Equipped Educators International, and founder and CEO of the nonprofit organization The National Students Of Color STEM Initiative.
