Northern, RI – Welcome to The Weekend, our weekly roundup of activities and events taking place right here in our small towns of Burrillville, North Smithfield and Glocester – starting on Thursday so you can get a jump start on the fun.
This week, we have two annual community events that you won’t want to miss: North Smithfield’s Great Pumpkin Festival and the Burrillville Arts & Crafts Festival. Both kick off on Saturday and each offer their own unique activities, from a pumpkin-eating contest and hot air balloon, to food trucks and a laser-light show. Get out early and catch them both.
On Friday, don’t forget to check out a Star Party with Skyscrapers, Inc. at Jesse Smith Memorial Library, or swing by Heritage Hall in North Smithfield for a History Night on Women in Agriculture. Or, if you do stay in, catch the premiere of a locally-based documentary series on Rhode Island PBS.
On Sunday, the arts festival continues throughout the day, or head over to Chepachet Union Church for the annual Rally Day & Carnival.
However you spend your weekend, as always, we hope it’s a great one.
