BURRILLVILLE – A man who was reportedly too intoxicated to drive his vehicle out of the Burrillville woods was arrested after police learned he had been involved in a domestic incident and was wanted on a nationwide, extraditable warrant out of Connecticut.

Robert Connors, 29, of Chepachet was charged with domestic felony assault, reckless driving and eluding, fugitive from justice, willful trespass, two counts of threats to public officials, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct on Thursday, June 5, according to a release from the Burrillville Police Department.

Col. Stephen Lynch said that police were dispatched to the  Munyon Trail area in Pascoag for a subject lost at approximately 11:42 p.m. Thursday evening. Officers searched the heavily wooded area and were able to locate the female calling party, who advised that her boyfriend was intoxicated and unable to drive the vehicle out of the area, and as they were attempting to get to the main road, the vehicle became stuck.

Connors reportedly was confrontational with police, threatening to officers and their families.

“He was taken into custody and it was determined that a domestic incident had also taken place just prior to police arrival,” the release noted. “It was further determined that Connors was wanted on a nationwide, extraditable warrant out of Connecticut for being a Fugitive from Justice.”

Connors was held overnight at the Burrillville Police Department and transported to 6th District Court Friday morning.
