NORTH SMITHFIELD – The Rhode Island State Police Financial Crimes Unit arrested the owner of longtime town-based pet boarding business on fraud charges this week.
Kim M. Dicostanzo, 63, of 89 Old Sayles Hill Road was charged with obtaining money by false pretenses over $10,000 and access to a computer for fraudulent purpose.
Dicostanzo was arrested on Tuesday, June 17, according to a release from the agency.
Dicostanzo is the owner of Cozy Quarters Pet Inn, a pet boarding business operated at the North Smithfield home, first incorporated by her late husband, John Dicostanzo, in 1999.
She was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released on $10,000 personal recognizance.
Dicostanzo is due back in court for a pre-arraignment conference Friday. Sept. 19.
Isn’t this the same place that a dog was hurt badly within the last year or so when his small dog was allowed to be in play area with the big boys?
Apparently she collected over $40,000 in COVID money for her doggie business, all while she worked elsewhere….oops.
