Free yoga, princess party & Brass Attack: Seven things to know in Burrillville this week

Free yoga class

Solitude Massage Therapy & Wellness Center at 979 East Ave. will offer a free yoga class on Tuesday, July 15 at 6 p.m. Mixed level yoga with sound healing will take place in The Loft.

Meal help

The Rhode Island Department of Education will visit Jesse Smith Library at 100 Tinkham Lane on Thursday, July 17 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. to assist families in completing the Meal Benefit Applications for the 2025-2026 school year. The applications help to determine the eligibility for the National School Breakfast and Lunch Program that provides free and/or reduced price meals to students. Additional enrollment events will be held at the library later this summer.

Giant yard sale

The First Universalist Church of Burrillville at 134 Harrisville Main St. will hold a Giant Yard Sale on Saturday, July 19 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. ! All proceeds will support the preservation of this historic church. Details for all church events can be found at Facebook.com/FirstUniversalistChurchofBurrillville.

Double fundraiser

The Assembly Theatre will host two fundraisers on Saturday, July 19, with proceeds to support the summer youth production of Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr.

At 1 p.m., the theater at 26 East Ave. will hold a “Little Mermaid” themed princess party for younger patrons, featuring games, crafts, story time and a meet and greet. At 6 p.m., the theater will partner with DJ Hamilton to host a karaoke night.

Admission for either event is $10 and tickets can be purchased at www.assemblytheatre.org/events.

Car show

Jim Weicherding will host the Outlaw Run Charity Car Show on Saturday, July 19 from 4 to 7 p.m. on Aspen Way in Mapleville to benefit Between The Cracks, a Burrillville-based organization assisting families in need. Attractions will include classic cars and trucks, the Buckleupallofus giant balloon and the Outlaw Run GTO film muscle car. Meet and greet Outlaw Run author and magazine series writer Weicherding, as well as the movie director, actors, professional drivers and film crew. Also visit the space where the garage scene filming took place for the movie.

The rain date for the event is Sunday, July 20 from 4 to 7 p.m.

Riverwalk concert

The Riverwalk Times Concert Series continues this week with a performance by Brass Attack on Saturday, July 19 at the Stillwater Mill Pavilion starting at 6 p.m. The Dinolicious food truck will be on site and visitors are invited to bring blankets and chairs to enjoy the free show.

Town meetings

The Burrillville Recreation Commission will hold a meeting on Monday, July 14 starting at 6:30 p.m. at Jesse Smith Memorial Library at 100 Tinkham Lane. The agenda is here.

The Pascoag Fire District Board of Fire Commissioners will hold a meeting on Monday, July 14 starting at 7 p.m. at the station at 141 Howard Ave. The agenda is here.

The Burrillville Ordinance Subcommittee will hold a meeting on Wednesday, July 16 starting at 3 p.m. at the town building at 105 Harrisville Main St. The date marks a change in schedule with the new meeting dates found here.
