GLOCESTER – A Glocester woman is facing charges after an alleged alcohol-fueled crash in May in a vehicle that had been rented by her daughter.
Nicole Lewis, 47, of Glocester was charged with driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license following the incident on Sunday, May 18. She was also issued several traffic citations out of Providence related to the crash.
A second party, Ariana Knight, 28, of Providence, is also facing charges of obstructing an officer and disorderly conduct related to the incident.

According to the arrest reports, Glocester police were dispatched to Snake Hill Road around 9 p.m. that evening for reports of a possible fight in progress. It was their second visit to the home that day, as officers had stopped by earlier for a wellness check after they were contacted by Providence Police regarding an accident with a vehicle rented by Lewis’s daughter.
During the first visit, police spoke with the daughter, who said Lewis was driving her rental car in Providence with a friend and was likely intoxicated. The victim said the two women were possible fighting and had been involved in a hit and run.
On the second visit, “all partied were in a belligerent state” when police arrived and observed damage to the vehicle, which had returned. Officers spoke with Knight, the passenger, who reportedly gave them a false name and birthdate. According to police, Knight “repeatedly caused a disturbance screaming explicitly and at times acting in a threatening manner,” toward others at the scene. She was identified with DMV image.
Lewis, meanwhile, had bloodshot eyes and slurred speech according to police, and the victim said she had arrived visibly drunk. She was deemed unfit to operate a vehicle in a field sobriety test and later blew a .187 on a breathelizer test.
Officers later learned the Lewis’s license had been suspended in 2011 and never reinstated.
Knight pled no contest to the obstruction charge and the disorderly charge was dismissed. She was sentenced to 15 days with 350 days probation.
Lewis was arraigned with a bond set at $1,000 personal recognizance and is due back in court on () August 6.
