Victory Day

Town Hall will be closed on Monday, August 11 in observance of Victory Day and there will be no trash or recycling collection in Burrillville. Collection will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week.

Fountain Square concert

The new Fountain Square Park Summer Concert Series will feature a popular group of Burrillville alumnus on Friday, August 15. The Aviators will play at the park on Pascoag Main Street from 6 to 9 p.m., with visitors invited to check out the band while visiting local restaurants and other village businesses.

Stop the Bleed

The Burrillville Land Trust will sponsor a free life saving program as part of a series of events to celebrate its 25th anniversary. Participants will have the chance to learn how to stop a life-threatening hemorrhage following unintentional injuries, crashes, acts of violence, or natural disasters at Stop the Bleed on Saturday, August 16 from 10 a.m. to noon at Jesse Smith Memorial Library at 100 Tinkham Lane. The program is held in collaboration with the RI Disaster Medical Assistance Team/Medical Reserve.

Grand opening

In case you missed it, New Leaf Coffee Bar at 77 Pascoag Main St. will hold a grand opening on Saturday, August 16 with a ribbon cutting at at 8 a.m. and full service starting at 9 a.m. Did we mention there will be free drip coffee while supplies last?

Block Party

The Downtown Pascoag & Neighborhood Association will hold the “Oh Bummer, It’s the End of Summer” Block Party on Saturday, August 16 from 4 to 7 p.m. on Bridge Way in Pascoag. The family-friendly event will feature vendors, live music, food and games to interact with local businesses.

Riverwalk concert

The Riverwalk Times Concert Series continues this week with a performance by Don’t Think Twice on Saturday, August 16 at the Stillwater Mill Pavilion starting at 6 p.m. The Not Your Average Popcorn food truck will be on site and visitors are invited to bring blankets and chairs to enjoy the free show.

Town meetings

The Pascoag Fire District will hold a meeting on Monday, August 11 starting at 7 p.m. at the station at 141 Howard Ave. The agenda is here.

The Burrillville School Committee will hold a meeting on Tuesday, August 12 starting at 6 p.m. in the media center of Burrillville High School at 425 East Ave. The agenda is here.

The Burrillville Recreation Commission will hold a meeting on Tuesday, August 12 starting at 6:30 p.m. at Spring Lake Beach at 50 Old Hillside Drive. The agenda is here.

The Burrillville Sewer Commission will hold a meeting on Tuesday, August 12 starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Wastewater Treatment Facility at 141 Clear River Drive. The agenda is here.

The Zoning Board of Review will hold a meeting on Tuesday, August 12 starting at 7 p.m. at the town building at 105 Harrisville Main St. The agenda is here.
