School supply giveaway

Glad Tidings Community Church will hold a school supply giveaway on Friday, August 22 from 5 to 7 p.m. – or until all supplies are distributed. Supplies will be passed out in the parking lot across from Dunkin Donuts in Pascoag, on the corner of High Street and Pascoag Main Street. Supplies are available to all students in pre-K through 12th grade.

Tours

The Glocester Heritage Society will offer tours of the historic Dr. Reuben Mason House, with the Dorr Rebellion Museum Room, located at 1043 Putnam Pike on Sunday Aug. 24, from noon to 3 p.m. Visitors can also tour the grounds, including a historic 18th-century medicinal garden.

Meat raffle

The Burrillville Junior Hockey League will host a meat raffle at Hill’s Tavern & Grill at 417 Putnam Pike on Saturday, Aug. 23 from 12:30 to 6 p.m. The kid-friendly fundraising event will also include yard games and raffles.

Live music

Mr. Z’s by the Lake at 2400 Putnam Pike will host performer Sean Ryan on Thursday, Aug. 21 starting at 6 p.m.

At Cady’s Tavern at 2168 Putnam Pike, it’s Three on a Match on Friday, Aug. 22 starting at 8 p.m., and All About Amy Saturday, Aug. 23 from 8 to 11 p.m. On Sunday, the venue hosts it’s weekly Roadhouse Blues starting at 3 p.m.

Saturday night at Hill’s Tavern catch Tucker’s Creek starting at 8 p.m.

Steak & clay fun shoot

The Glocester Lions Club’s 5th annual Steak & Clay Fun Shoot will be held at Addieville East Farm at 200 Pleasant Drive in Mapleville on Saturday, August 23 starting at 8 a.m. Tickets including lunch cost $130 or lunch only is $45. The event will also include a cash bar and raffles.

The Glocester Planning Board workshop originally scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 19 has been cancelled.

The Chepachet Fire District Executive Board will hold a meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 20 starting at 7 p.m. at 1170 Putnam Pike. The agenda is here.
