
Orientation
Burrillville Middle School at 2220 Bronco Highway will hold a 6th grade and new student orientation on Monday, August 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. All students new to BMS and their families are encouraged to attend.

Back to school
The first day of school for students in grades 1-12 in Burrillville schools is Wednesday, August 27. Bus Routes are available on the Dattco website here and school supply lists for middle school and elementary school students are posted on each of the schools’ respective websites and Burrillville High School students will get their supply lists on the first day of school.

BBQ Fundraiser
The annual fundraiser to benefit preservation of First Universalist Church if Burrillville will be held on Friday, Sept. 5 at Addieville East Farm in Mapleville. Tickets for the event, to include raffles, a BBQ dinner and a cash bar, must be purchased in advance here, and cost $30 for adults or $15 for children under 12.
Supply & Food Drive
The Burrillville Weekend Snack Pack Program is currently holding a back-to school supply and food drive to benefit Burrillville students. Donations are accepted at the Public Works building at 141 Clear River Drive, Jesse Smith Library at 100 Tinkham Lane and the tax collector’s office at Town Hall at 105 Harrisville Main St.
Citizen Police Academy
The Burrillville Police Department will hold a Citizens Police Academy for 11 weeks starting September 24 in the community room of BPD headquarters 1477 Victory Highway on Wednesday nights from 6 to 9 p.m. Residents are 17 and older are invited to see how crimes are investigated and view the police department from the inside.
The class in limited to 25 participants and spaces fill up quickly. Applications can be picked up at the police department or found here. Questions can be directed to Lt. Robert Veader or Det. Alex Rosa at (401) 568-6255
Reunion
The Burrillville High School Class of 1965 will hold their 60th Reunion at the Townsmen Club on Saturday, Oct. 11 starting at noon. The cost to attend is $25 per person and includes a catered meal.

“We look forward to seeing our classmates there,” noted a release from the planning committee.

The Burrillville Redevelopment Agency will hold a meeting on Tuesday, August 26 starting at 7 p.m. in the community room of Jesse Smith Memorial Library at 100 Tinkham Lane. The agenda is here.
The East Burrillville Fire District and Harrisville Fire District merger subcommittees will hold a meeting on Tuesday, August 26 starting at 7 p.m. at the Harrisville Fire District Office at 115 Central St. The agenda is here.
