
Paving
Paving operations are taking place on Route 102 between Lapham Farm Road and Central Street on Monday, Sept. 15, and the section of Route 102 will be closed to through traffic for the duration of the work. Paving is expected to be completed today. Closure and detour signage have been posted and motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes.

Pickleball
A free indoor pickleball league sponsored by the Burrillville Parks and Recreation Department will begin this week, with play on Mondays and Wednesdays in the gymnasium of Callahan Elementary School at 75 Callahan School St. from Monday, Sept. 15 through December 15.

Liberty Tree planting
The town of Burrillville 250 Commission will be planting a Red Maple, Rhode Island’s state tree, on the lawn of the Assembly Theatre at 26 East Ave on Friday, Sept. 19 with an event starting at 10 a..m. Such trees will be planted in all 39 cities and towns across the state by 2026 to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution.
The public is invited to attend the event, to include performance of the National Anthem and remarks from local officials as well as Secretary of State Gregg Amore.

Family Stroll
The Downtown Pascoag & Neighborhood Association will host a Family Stroll on Sunday, Sept. 21 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the Pascoag Bike Path, accessed at 75 Eastern Ave. The event will give local families a chance to get out and exercise, and to enjoy bubbles and raffles.
The Assembly of Food Trucks
PVD Food Trucks will set up booths on the grounds of The Assembly Theatre at 26 East Ave. on Sunday, Sept. 21 starting at 4:30 p.m. Enjoy great food and libations, along with entertainment by Superchief Duo. Guests are invited to bring blankets and lawn chairs for a relaxed evening.
Postponed
The opening of the Haunted Gallows, a haunted performance venue at 505 East Ironstone Road, originally scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 20, has been postponed to Friday, Sept. 26 due to a loss in the family that runs the business.
Tickets cost $20 and are available for opening night, as well as the rest of the season here.
