BURRILLVILLE –The GTO Association of America recently partnered with the award-winning, Buckleupallofus child passenger safety campaign across the country this month with an emphasis on the National Child Passenger Safety Week starting on Sunday, Sept. 21 through Saturday, Sept. 27.

Saturday, Sept. 27 is National Car Seat Check Up Day nationwide. Police departments across the country will be hosting car seat check ups, making sure that car seats are properly installed and safe for infants and toddlers to ride in while restrained in backseats of family vehicles. All infants and toddlers should be properly restrained in rear-facing car seats when traveling.

If you are unsure whether your car seat is properly secured and functional, you can always reach out to your local police department and make an appointment to have it inspected by a certified car seat installer and police officer. Some police departments are hosting car seat check ups and clinics during this entire week or on Saturday, Sept. 27.

The GTOAA is distributing this Buckleupallofus GTO themed coloring cartoon to their chapters across the country this week to pass out to families attending their classic car shows nationwide, to be distributed to thousands of little kids reminding them to always boost up and buckle up in vehicle backseats. Child passenger safety is a team effort involving classic car and truck clubs, car show hosts, fire and police departments, as well as goodwill safety partners and community sponsors, making sure that little kids are safe while riding in vehicles, not only just during national focus weeks and months but also throughout the entire year.
