Help the Ponaganset Chieftains Men’s Soccer Team for a Pink Out Night to support the Gloria Gemma Foundation on Tuesday, Sept. 29 at a Varsity game featuring doughboys, kettlecorn, raffles and more. The event at Ponaganset High School at 137 Anan Wade Road starts at 6:30 p.m.

Scoop & Score

Speaking of athletics-based fundraisers, join the Class of 2028 on Friday, Oct. 3 at Ponaganset High School at 137 Anan Wade Road for Scoop, Score & Repeat, a fundraiser with Palagi Bros. Enjoy ice cream and lemonade while you watch the Chieftains football team take on Central Falls starting at 6:30 p.m.

Bingo

The Chepachet Grange at 28 Chopmist Hill Road will host bingo on Friday, Oct. 3 with doors at 5 p.m. and games to start at 6 p.m. There will be food available and 10 packs of six cards sold for $10. No one under age 18 is allowed.

Deadline

Those hoping to participate in the 2025 Glocester Scarecrow Festival will need to register by the end of this week. Residents, businesses and organizations are invited to put their creativity to work and create a scarecrow for the event to be held on Saturday, Oct. 18. Registration will be open with more information here through Saturday, Oct. 4.

Bazaar donations

St. Eugene Church at 1251 Putnam Pike is seeking gently used and new items for their Christmas bazaar to be held Saturday, Nov. 29. Drop off your yard sale leftovers or fall cleanup items to the church Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. No clothes, mattresses, shoes or TVs will be accepted.

Town meetings

The Glocester Recreation Commission will hold a meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 30 starting at 6:30 p.m. at Town Hall at 1145 Putnam Pike. The agenda is here.

The Glocester Economic Development Commission will hold a meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 1 starting at 7 p.m. at Town Hall at 1145 Putnam Pike. The agenda is here.

The Glocester Town Council is scheduled to hold a meeting on Thursday, Oct. 2 starting at 7:30 p.m. The agenda will be posted 48 hours in advance on the Secretary of State’s website.
