Trash delay
Town Hall will be closed on Monday, Oct. 13 in celebration of Columbus Day and there will be no trash or recycling pickup in town. Collection will be delayed one day for the remainder of the week.

Meet the candidate
The Burrillville Democratic Town Committee will hold their monthly meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 15 with special guest Keith Hoffman, a candidate for Rhode Island attorney general in 2026. The public is invited to attend and meet the candidate in the community room of Jesse Smith Library at 100 Tinkham Lane starting at 6 p.m.
Fall Showcase
Burrillville High School will hold its Fall Showcase on Thursday, Oct. 16, open to all current and prospective Bronco families. Visit the school at 425 East Ave. to learn about academic programs including career and technical education, athletics, clubs and organizations and more. The event will begin with opening remarks and a school overview at 5 p.m. followed by tours every half hour from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

Paranormal Investigation
The RI Paranormal Research Group will visit Pascoag Public Library at 57 Church St. on Thursday, Oct. 16 for an investigation of the library starting at 6:30 p.m. Registration is appreciated at pascoaglibrary.org.
Halloween mini-golf
Jesse Smith Library at 100 Tinkham Lane will offer free Halloween-themed mini-golf on the Riverwalk on Friday, Oct. 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. No registration is required for glow-in-the-dark golfing, which is open to all ages. In the event of inclement weather, the event will take place inside the library.

80s Trivia Night
The Assembly Theatre at 26 East Ave. will host 80s Trivia Night on Friday, Oct. 17 starting at 7 p.m. It costs $10 to play and test your 80s knowledge, and the bar and concessions will be open.
Shred/e-waste event
The Burrillville Public Works Department will hold a shred and e-waste event rain or shine on Saturday, Oct. 18 from 9 a.m. to noon at 200 Clear River Drive. No appointment is needed and shredding is limited to one box per person.

Halloween bazaar
The Burrillville Historical & Preservation Society will hold a Halloween Bazaar on Saturday, Oct. 18 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will feature a Halloween penny social, spooky baked goods, Halloween decor, a yard sale, books for sale and more. Visitors are also invited to browse through the organization’s archives to learn more about Burrillville’s history, explore the new museum room or find information about the town’s 132 historical cemeteries.
The event will be held at the Bridgeton School, 16 Laurel Hill Ave. in Pascoag and donations are welcome.

Jamboree
The Burrillville Patriots Youth Football & Cheer will host the RI Pre-Teen 2025 Flag Football & Cheer Jamboree at Eccleston Field at 75 Callahan School St. on Saturday, Oct. 18, with games from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will feature the Burrillville Patriots Flag Football Team versus the North Providence Jets with a $5 entry fee at the gate via cash or Venmo.
The family-friendly day will have a DJ spinning tunes, face painting and Sticks Pizza and a photographer on site, as well as more surprises.
Nature hike
The Burrillville Land Trust will host a guided hike of the Edward D. Vock Conservation Area from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18, led by President Paul Roselli. According to a release, the hike will be “a short spiritual journey of self-discovery, personal growth, and connection with nature and others.”
“Along the way we will stop, listen, share stories and learn about ourselves and each other,” the release noted.
The one mile Bob Cat Loop Trail requires sturdy shoes, “a smile and curiosity,” it notes. Use 498 Jackson School House Road in GPS to attend the free event and call me (401) 447-1560 if you get lost.

Stuff the Gazebo
The Burrillville Lions Club will Stuff the Gazebo to benefit the Burrillville Weekend Snack Pack Program on Sunday, Oct. 19 from 9 a.m. to noon. Visit the gazebo in Harrisville by Levy School to donate and help feed local children in need with items needed including peanut butter, pasta, mac & cheese, juice boxes and other non-perishable foods.
