BDTC to host event on how to run for office Oct. 20

    The Burrillville Democratic Town Committee will host Getting on the Ballot: What You Need to Know to Run for Office on Monday, Oct. 20 starting at 6 p.m. at Jesse Smith Library at 100 Tinkham Lane. The non-partisan information session will covering all the nuts and bolts of running for local office, including eligibility requirements, declaring your candidacy, signature collection, deadlines, and resources for learning more. 

    “If the idea of running for office has ever crossed your mind, then come and find out how you can make your town better by bringing your own perspective, experience, and contributions to the political table. Town Council, School Committee, State Representative, and State Senator positions will all be open during the 2026 election cycle, and it’s not too early to start considering a run.

    All are invited to come as you are, and bring a friend for support and encouragement. The group will also be collecting food donations for the  Burrillville Weekend Snack Program.
