NORTH SMITHFIELD – A call to 911 led to the arrest of two individuals in a domestic dispute last month after the caller reportedly tried to ignore responding officers and leave the scene.

Alexandra Ricci, 28, was charged with domestic violence, domestic assault and resisting arrest; and Nicholas Ricci, 27, was charged with domestic violence and domestic assault, following the incident on Sunday, Sept. 28.

According to police reports, the department received a 911 call from a property on Rocky Hill Road around 10 a.m. and heard screaming on the line, but operators were unable to discern any information.

At the scene, a woman, later identified as Alexandra, became irritated when the first officer to arrive refused to leave the property to speak with her before understanding what had happened, according to reports. A second officer on scene said he made numerous attempts to get her attention, but she ignored him and continued walking away until he told her that she would be placed in cuffs if she did not respond.

“The female subject then acknowledged me for the first time; as she turned around, began walking backwards and took out her cell phone
to begin recording,” noted Officer Steven Conti in his narrative.

Alexandra reportedly continued walking, and when Conti repeated the threat she responded “I promise you, you’re not cuffing me.”

Conti caught up with her, but Alexandra reportedly cursed at him and said she would not speak with police. When he attempted to stop her, she immediately fought him off, kicking and flailing.

Police eventually restrained her and as they placed Alexandra in the cruiser she said “I want to spit on you so bad right now,” according to Conti.

Nicholas, meanwhile, was located in a trailer on the property and told officers nothing had happened except for a verbal argument – until Alexandra showed police cell phone video of the physical altercation that had originally led to the call. She later refused to submit the video as evidence.

Alexandra was arrested, and released with a no contact order and a $3,000 personal recognizance bond. She was charged with violating the order the following day, according to the criminal records database, and is due back in court October 28.

Nicholas was arrested and later released with a no contact order and a $1,000 personal recognizance bond. He is also due back October 28.

    • Ummm, until one calls 911, that is. As in this case. Two angry adults who have never learned or were taught, as children, to walk away and cool off perhaps.
