Skate park open house
An open house/informational meeting on plans for the new skate park to be built in Burrillville will be held on on Thursday, Nov, 6 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Village Gas at 172 Chapel St. Attendees will have the chance to offer feedback and to cast a vote for their favorite design.

Bigfoot & UFOs
Pascoag Public Library will sponsor a program at the Beckwith Bruckshaw Lodge at 50 Lodge Road on Saturday, Nov. 8 starting at 1 p.m. with Ronny Leblanc from The Discovery Channel’s Expedition Bigfoot to give a talk on Bigfoot and UFOs. No registration is required but capacity is limited to 100 attendees, with doors to open at 12:15 p.m.
Tournament
The 15th Annual Nicole McConnell Memorial Coed Softball Tournament will be held at Hauser Field in Pascoag on Saturday, Nov. 8. There will be 12 teams participating and organizers will be collecting food for Thanksgiving baskets to support local families in need.
Items needed include canned green beans, corn and cream of mushroom soup, french fried onions, stuffing mix, cranberry sauce, turkey gravy, Jiffy cornbread mix, pasta, pasta sauce, peanut butter and jelly, pancake mix and maple syrup for the Helping Hands Food Pantry.
Anyone is welcome to donate items at the field with the goal of supporting 35 families.
Stefan Couture Duo
Local artist the Stefan Couture Duo will play at the Assembly Theatre at 26 East Ave. on Saturday, Nov. 8 from 8 to 10 p.m., with a performance blending modern folk, pop and roots rock. Tickets cost $15 in advance or $20 at the door and are available here.
Applefest
St. Joseph’s Church at 183 Sayles Ave. will host its annual Applefest dinner on Sunday, Nov. 9, with entertainment and raffles. Tickets cost $20 or $15 for children ages 5-12 and are available through the St. Eugene Church Parish Office or the St. Joseph Church Parish Office.
Town meetings
The Burrillville Planning Board will hold a meeting on Monday, Nov. 3 starting at 7 p.m. at Jesse Smith Library at 100 Tinkham Lane. The agenda is here.
The Zoning Board of Review will hold a meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 4 starting at 7 p.m. at the town building at 105 Harrisville Main St. The agenda is here.
