NORTH SMITHFIELD – A Burrillville man was sentenced to 45 days in prison last month with 320 days probation after an attempt to escape North Smithfield police by climbing through the bathroom window of the motel room where he was reportedly staying with his wife.
Liam Lambert, 41, was charged with obstructing an officer and resisting arrest following the incident, where officers visited the motel in attempt to locate him on a warrant.

Lambert was wanted by Woonsocket police on charges of breaking and entering a place of business from a previous incident on Friday, Oct. 10.
According to his arrest report, North Smithfield officers went to Travelers Motel at 1210 Eddie Dowling Highway on Thursday, Oct. 30 looking for Lambert. Police were told he was in a room with his wife “sitting on a chair.”
Entering the room, officers heard noises coming from behind the bathroom door and located Lambert, who was reportedly in the process of climbing out a window that led to the rear of the business.

Lambert successfully climbed out according to the narrative, but was captured by officers who grabbed onto his shirt as he was running through the parking lot. Police say that Lambert resisted, and was later taken to Landmark Medical Center for an abrasion related to his capture.
Lambert was sentenced on the North Smithfield charges on Friday, Oct. 31, but his charges in Woonsocket remain pending, with a scheduled court date of Wednesday, Feb. 4.
The state criminal database shows Lambert has a long history with law enforcement that dates back to 2002 and includes charges for larceny, intent to deliver narcotics, assault, possession of stolen property, breaking and entering, fraud and more.

He did the opposite of what Joe cocker sang about!
And why might that be? Doing their job so that we might have better communities?
North Smithfield is ALWAYS in that hotel fishing for arrests
