Thanksgiving

Town Hall will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 27 and Friday, Nov. 28 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Trash and recycling collection will not take place on Thursday, and will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week.

If your the type who likes to start the celebration the night before, there’s plenty happening in town for Thanksgiving eve with parties and live music at Toti’s Tavern; Alexa Picillo at Uncle Ronnie’s; and Allison Kirby at Dev’s Tavern.

If you’re more of an early riser and want to get in a workout before the feast, head over to the Beckwith Bruckshaw Lodge for the “Shakey Before You Bakey” Zumba class. The drop in class costs just $5 and starts at 6:30 a.m.

And if you don’t have anyone to celebrate with this year, head over to Pascoag Cafe at 150 Pascoag Main St. on Thanksgiving Day, where they’ll be serving complimentary turkey and fixings starting at 4 p.m.

Reunion

Burrillville High School’s Class of 1995 will hold its 30th reunion on Friday, Nov. 28 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Bravo Brewing Company at 75 Main Street, Pascoag. Tickets are $30, must be purchased by Nov. 20 and are available at https://tinyurl.com/BHS95-30th.

Betty Mencucci manned a table at a holiday bazaar at Bridgeton School on Saturday.

Spaghetti dinner fundraiser

It’s a bit outside of town – but American Legion Post 303 in Swansea will host a spaghetti dinner fundraiser on Friday, Nov. 28 to benefit the family of a Burrillville native Brian Campbell. Campbell was diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma this year. The event will be held at 73 Ocean Grove Ave. starting at 6 p.m.

Tickets cost $15 for adults or $10 for children ages 3 to 10 and can be purchased via Venmo to @Maryann Busse.

Mill Tour

The Burrillville 250 Commission postponed the mill tour originally scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 22 as part of their town history series. The tour will be held on Saturday, Nov. 29 from 10 a.m. to noon. Those joining will meet at 10 a.m. at Callahan Elementary School at 75 Callahan School St.

Holiday Vendor Fair

Mapleville Farm at 544 Victory Highway will host a Holiday Vendor Fair on Saturday, Nov. 29 and Sunday, Nov. 30 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Have a cup of hot chocolate and some popcorn while you shop in the festively decorated greenhouse and check out and support local creators.

Victorian Holiday

The Downtown Pascoag & Neighborhood Association will hold its annual Victorian Holiday event on Saturday, Nov. 29 on The Bridgeway in Pascoag from 3 to 6 p.m. The event includes the chance to shop with local vendors and meet with Santa, with holiday music, trolly rides, food trucks, a fire truck and jeep light parade, a gingerbread house contest and more.

Town meetings

As of Monday, Nov. 24 no town meetings in Burrillville have been published with the Rhode Island Secretary of State for the coming week.

We hope all of our readers enjoy their holiday week and spend time relaxing with family and friends.

Happy Thanksgiving!
