BURRILLVILLE – What began with a verbal notice about an illegal parking job ended with an arrest and multiple charges for one Burrillville man, who drove recklessly through a busy village area according to police.
Scott Brosious, 36, of Manley Drive was charged with threats against public officials, a felony, along with misdemeanor counts of reckless driving, obstructing an officer, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

According to the arrest report, on Saturday, Nov. 15 around 6 p.m. an officer noticed Brosious’s car – a 1996 Honda Accord – double parked in the fire lane in front of Brigido’s market. The car was running, with an 8-year-old female in the passenger seat.
Brosious exited the store and demanded to know why the officer was standing near the vehicle, according to the report. Informed he was in a no parking area, he replied “whatever dude” and got into the car, slamming the door. Brosious then began revving his engine and shot out of the space into traffic, according to police. The car sped out of the parking lot ignoring stop signs without a blinker, and the officer noted that the area had a lot of foot traffic at the time.
The report notes police had to drive 40 in the 25-mile-per-hour zone to catch up with the vehicle and that once he was finally pulled over, Brosious began shouting obscenities. Brosious refused to provide his license and only became more hostile when police informed him he would be placed under arrest.
During the altercation the child in the vehicle reportedly exited the car on her own and retreated to a nearby yard. Brosious, meanwhile, continued shouting and cursing at the officer, only complying once threatened with a taser.
The report notes that the aggressive behavior didn’t stop there, as Brosious was also disrespectful to the bail commissioner, even threatening police as he exited his cell block.
Brosious was released on $5,000 personal recognizance and is due back in court on Wednesday, Feb. 18.

Wow. If he can do this with his short temper, over a small matter, wonder what he may have been doing to the young child under his care. Hopefully a relative takes that into consideration for her safety and well-being. And he gets help of course. Supervision. No one knows what may be going on in private, the child is priority.
