Cookie Walk
The North Smithfield High School Class of 2026 will host a Cookie Walk on Tuesday, Dec. 9 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the cafeteria of the school at 412 Greenville Road. Help support the class through the purchase of holiday treats.

Songs We Remember
North Smithfield Senior Services will present Songs We Remember on Wednesday, Dec. 10, billed as a multicultural holiday experience. Enjoy music with Natalia deRezendes, Sasha Stern, Linda Thibault, Paul Donnelly and Chris Dunning in a program at Scouter’s Hall at 13 Main St. beginning at 10:30 a.m. The event is free and open to all seniors age 55 and older.

Holiday Huddle
The student-led news team at North Smithfield High School – Wicked Good News – will host its first ever fundraiser this week to help support the NSHS Food Pantry. The Holiday Huddle will include a showing of the movie Elf, with hot cocoa, raffles, a photo booth and more on Friday, Dec. 12 from 5:45 to 8 p.m. in the auditorium of the school at (412) Greenville Road.
The event is open to all ages with an entry fee of $3 per person, or donation of two or more non=perishable food items.

Refuge tour
The North Smithfield Heritage Association will host a free walking tour of the Forte Wildlife Refuge on Saturday, Dec. 13. See remains of an 18th-century homestead and native ceremonial stone features. Participants should wear good walking shoes and bug spray, bring water, and meet at 10 a.m. at the parking lot of the refuge at 1435 Providence Pike.

Night of Carols
Slatersville Congregational Church at 25 Green St. will host Night of Carols on Sunday, Dec. 14 with the North Smithfield High School Music Department, a fundraiser for their upcoming trip to Disney. Get into the holiday spirit with the Chamber Choir, Select Choir and instrumental ensembles at the event, to be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Gifts support library
The North Smithfield Public Library has a limited number of mugs, tumblers, book bags, bookmarks and more for sale. Library officials note the items make great stocking stuffers or an inexpensive gift for a favorite teacher. Items are priced between $2 and $10. Credit cards are accepted for purchases of $5 or more. The library is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.; Friday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.; and Saturday, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
