Shop are decorated for the season and streets lit with vintage street lights while holiday music adds to the old-fashioned ambiance.

Christmas parade

The Glocester Police and Fire Departments have announced that the town’s annual Christmas Parade will take place on Saturday, Dec. 20 starting at 6 p.m. The route will begin at the West Glocester Fire Station and travel along Route 44 to Sawmill Road before ending at Ponaganset High School. Locals are encouraged to gather along Main Street, where local businesses will be joining in the holiday fun and festivities. Santa will ride through town on a horse-drawn carriage.

During the Christmas parade, there will also be festivities along Main Street, including the Ponaganset Baseball Team selling doughboys and hot cocoa in front of Trish Hampton Pet Boutique. The team is raising money to travel to and play in Cooperstown in April.

New doc

The long awaited return of a chiropractor to replace the late Matthew Stone is on track for January. Officials with the former Glocester Family Chiropractic said that Anissa Boudreau has been hired for the new Evergreen Family Chiropractic, set to open soon.

Boudreau, a native Rhode Islander, is currently practicing in Warwick.

“She is going to be a great addition to the community and we believe Dr. Stone would have our approval,” noted Adler Bros. “The search included finding someone with similar values to doc, not just filling the space.”
