BURRILLVILLE – It’s the week of Christmas, and with the hustle and bustle of the holidays, it is not the time of year to forget about fire safety in your home.
It’s very important that you have functioning smoke detectors and that you have one placed on every level of your residence to insure that your family and friends are safer in case of a fire. Having sleepovers is also a great time to practice exiting your residence in case of a fire with extended family and friends. It only takes a few moments to practice this important safety rule of thumb. Smoke detectors save lives. Hearing the beeps means get out, and stay out. Designate a safe meeting place away from your residence that will help keep everyone out of harm’s way.
Have a safe and happy holiday season and stay fire safe, everyone. Color with your children, display on refrigerators and share to remind others to be fire safe this holiday season too.
