BURRILLVILLE – Christmas is over for another year, and I’m sure Santa Claus delivered plenty of toys to all of the good little boys and girls that made the nice list over the past few months.
Kids know Santa is watching them and they try harder to be on the nice list before Christmas Eve arrives. Now that these little kids have received all of their new toys, it’s a good time to remind them about the importance of not leaving unattended toys in the middle of floors in order to try and prevent unintentional falls and subsequent injuries. Not only could children become victims of falls in the home at any given time, stray toys could also cause injury to adults and the elderly.
Kids should always put their toys away when they are no longer playing with them. Toys can be safely put inside closets, under beds or secured inside toy boxes and away from roaming feet, especially at night and in the dark. Falls are no laughing matter and could cause serious injuries to anyone if left on floors.
The Fearless Dino Protector Squad Fire Chief points to a no lid toy box in a child’s bedroom on this coloring cartoon, reminding parents that safe toy boxes do not have lids on them, and where kids should put their toys away after playing with them. Kids should put their toys away after playing with them every day.
