Those thinking about running for office this year and wondering how to get started are invited to the Burrillville Democratic Town Committee’s event. Getting on the Ballot: What You Need to Know to Run for Office on Tuesday, January 13, starting at 6 p.m. at Jesse Smith Library at 100 Tinkham Lane. The non-partisan information session will cover all the nuts and bolts of running for local office, including eligibility requirements, declaring your candidacy, signature collection, deadlines and resources for learning more.
Potential candidates can find out how to make the town better by bringing their perspective, experience, and contributions to the political table. Town Council, School Committee, state representative, and state senator positions will all be open during the 2026 election cycle, and it’s not too early to start considering a run.
All are invited to come and bring a friend for support and encouragement. The group will also be collecting food donations for the Burrillville Weekend Snack Program.
