Northern RI – The votes have been tallied, and holiday villages set up annually at homes in Pascoag and North Smithfield have been named the best in northern Rhode Island by our readers for 2025.
A massive and detailed display submitted by Sherry and Michael Perreault of Pascoag was the favorite, receiving more than 50 votes.

Started with the purchase of a single tea light house during the couple’s first year of marriage on Christmas Eve in 1988, the detailed village has become a reflection of the Perreault’s long and happy life together.

It includes a Fenway Park, a Dave’s Marketplace and more than 100 pieces that twinkle and glow each year with holiday cheer.

As the winners of the contest, the Perreaults will receive a $50 gift card to New Leaf Coffee Company in Pascoag.

The runner up of our six village submissions, coming in second with 45 votes, came from Kevin Morin in North Smithfield.

A display 25 years in the making, Morin’s village wows passersby from his three season porch every Christmas. It features a Northern lights projector, along with 49 houses, 86 trees, 8 wagons and more than 146 people, and takes weeks to put together.

In the spirit of the holiday season – and in recognition of all the work it takes to put out these amazing displays – NRI NOW has decided this second place village should also receive a prize, and will present Morin with a $25 gift card to Revive Coffee Company in Slatersville.

We would like to sincerely thank all who participated in this year’s contest, including voters, but particularly those who shared photos of their home displays.
NRI NOW wishes you and yours a very Happy New Year, and hopes that your wonderful villages continue to bring you and others joy for many years to come.
