BURRILLVILLE – With the milder weather being forecasted on the area news channels ahead of us this coming week, and through the month of April, there will be plenty of kids enjoying the nicer days and riding on skateboards in local communities in the days ahead.
The Bus Stop Kids want to remind these wheeled sports enthusiasts that riding skateboards is not safe on the streets or in parking lots of grocery stores, convenience stores, business establishments or plazas. The heavy foot traffic and vehicle activities in these locations opens the doors to many harmful situations that makes them unsafe for skateboarding any time of the day. Busy streets are also skateboarding danger zones for kids as well as teenagers.
Many communities now have skateboard parks that offer safer locations for youth wheeled sports activities. You still must wear helmets and protective gear to help prevent unintentional injuries during these skateboarding coordinated stunts and riding experiences.
Have fun and at the same time ride skateboards safely. Avoid any unnecessary trips to the nearest hospital. Safety first kids!
