Bird release
Town-based wildlife rehabilitator Congress of the Birds will hold a unique fundraiser Tuesday, March 31 through Wednesday, April 1 in conjunction with 401Gives – Rhode Island’s statewide day of giving. The organization is trying to raise $20,000 to help feed and care for the thousands of birds that come through their doors in the spring and is inviting those who donate to a special event on Saturday – the release of a rehabilitated loon.
The campaign lasts for 36 hours, from March 31 at 6 a.m. through April 1 at 6 p.m. and the loon will be released on Saturday, April 4, in Charlestown at 11:30 a.m.

Open house
J.R. Vinagro Corporation will hold a community open house on Thursday, April 2 starting at 3 p.m. at their location at 812 Putnam Pike. Walk the site and get a behind-the-scenes look at blasting and crushing operations. Meet the on site manager and ask questions with blasting professionals from Maine Drilling & Blasting.
The event is open to the general public and all are welcome to attend.
Fight for Air Climb
The Chepachet Fire Department is once again raising funds for the American Lung Association by taking part in the Fight for Air Climb in Providence on Saturday, April 4. Members will don full gear and air packs and climb the Omni Providence Hotel tower.

Easter flowers
The Stem Bar at 6 Money Hill Road will hold a Easter flower arrangement workshop on Saturday, April 4 starting at 6 p.m. Participants will leave with the arrangement they make.
Tickets cost $85.99 here and must be purchased by Thursday, April 2.

Live music
Cady’s Tavern at 2168 Putnam Pike will host James Gagne on Friday, April 3 with his “Live-Looping One-Man Band” starting at 7:30 p.m. On Saturday, April 4, it’s Roc-Kin’-On starting at 8 p.m. and on Sunday, April 5, the weekly Roadhouse Blues Jam starts at 3 p.m.
Hill’s Tavern at 417 Putnam Pike will host The Underground on Saturday, April 4 sith a show starting at 8:30 p.m.

Town meetings
The Glocester Recreation Commission will hold a meeting on Tuesday, March 31 starting at 6:30 p.m. at Town Hall at 1145 Putnam Pike. The agenda is here.
