This week, Burrillville Lions Club President Gregg Devlin presented books to Susan Dubois, director of the North Smithfield Library. The donation was in keeping with the Lions Clubs International's mission to reduce the prevalence of diabetes and improve the quality of life for those diagnosed.

A healthy fundraiser

Visit a local business today, Friday, Jan. 31, for a healthy meal and a chance to support the Burrillville High School girls’ hockey team. New Rhode Nutrition at 1452 Bronco Highway is holding a fundraiser for the team until 5 p.m.

Live music

Visit Uncle Ronnie’s Red Tavern tonight to catch rock cover band Keturah’s Dream in a show starting at 9 p.m.

Return to the tavern at 2692 Victory Highway on Sunday to watch the Kansas City Chiefs take on the San Francisco 49ers at their party for Super Bowl LIV.

Football Mania

Take the kids to Jesse Smith Memorial Library on Saturday for a chance to burn off some energy – and get pumped for Sunday’s big game. The library will host “Football Mania,” a drop in program for kids 10 and under, with stations for hands on fun from 1 to 2:30 p.m.

Winter musical

Recital students of artistic and educational director Britany Dyer will perform in a winter musical on Saturday, Feb. 1 starting at 1 p.m. at the Assembly Theatre. Refreshments will be served following the free event.

Open house
