Guys vs Gals Valentine’s ride
Looking for some fun that’s a little less romance-focused in Burrillville tonight?
In addition to Bravo Brewing Co.’s Galentine’s beer release mentioned earlier this week, an event at DP Fitness Studio will give guests a chance to focus that love inward.
The gym will host a fun competition with a Guys vs Gals Ride starting at 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 14. Grab your bestie, date, spouse, significant other or family member, and set aside 45 minutes to celebrate your love for spin. Stick around after the ride for a complimentary champagne toast.
There is a $10 drop-in fee for the class if it’s your first class this week at the studio, and there are several packages and pricing options available for new members.
Fifteen miles
Jesse Smith Memorial Library will host author Paul Mainville on Saturday, Feb. 15 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. for a talk and book signing.
“Told with honesty and humility, and filled with heart-warming and humorous anecdotes from his life, Fifteen Miles follows a man’s lifelong quest to find his birth mother, only to discover something at the end of that journey that was not what he expected,” notes a release on the event. “Fifteen Miles was written to help adopted and foster children everywhere, as well as for those who have struggled to find their own identity.”
Vanishing Breed
Vanishing Breed, a four-piece country/rock act out of Plainfield, Conn. will play at Uncle Ronnie’s Red Tavern Saturday, Feb. 15 with a show starting at 9 p.m.
Soup Swap
On Sunday, Feb. 16 at 2 p.m., the Blackstone Valley Chapter of Polka Dot Powerhouse will get together in Harrisville to share their favorite soups. The event, hosted by member Wendy Andrews, is open to both members and guests.
If you would like to attend, message the group here for details.
President’s Day
It’s a long weekend with President’s Day on Monday, Feb.17, but there will be no delay to trash pickup services in Burrillville next week. Burrillville students will have winter recess, however, with no school on Monday or Tuesday.
Stop back next week for a highlight of events taking place in town Monday night, and throughout the remainder of the week.
