BURRILLVILLE – With spring fast approaching, local artist and traffic safety advocate Jim Weicherding released a series of coloring cartoons this week aimed at teaching kids bike, skateboard and helmet safety.
The series, created for Hasbro Children’s Hospital, shows kids how to stay safe while enjoying outdoor recreation.
Weicherding said local kids may need a reminder on the issue.
“It’s been very mild lately, and I see kids at the Harrisville Skate & Bike Park using the facility and not wearing helmets,” he said.
