The Burrillville Prevention Action Coalition will hold a virtual meeting on Wednesday, May 6 starting at 5 p.m. Official will discuss, plan, and give updates on substance use prevention initiatives occurring within town and the region. Residents of Burrillville are always welcome and can join the meeting via Zoom here.
Vote for the Burrillville Animal Shelter
The Burrillville Animal Shelter has been voted “best animal shelter,” in the past in the Rhode Island Monthly reader’s poll, and animal control officials are hoping for your vote again in 2020. The poll, a chance to weigh in on the “best of,” everything in the state can be found here.
Professional day
Wednesday, May 6 os a professional day for Burrillville teachers and students will not have virtual classes.
Important dates for parents and students to remember this month include a vacation day for students on Friday, May 15, an additional professional day on Wednesday, May 20 and a holiday for Memorial Day on Monday, May 25.
Teachers will also have a professional day on Tuesday, May 26.
Get “relief,” feed kids
Johnny’s Victory Diner is now selling “COVID-19 Relief packs,” to benefit the Burrillville Weekend Snack Pack program, which provides food for students who need it in town.
Purchase a pack, containing a mug, tea, a koozie and a 10 percent off coupon from the diner for $12 and half of all proceeds will benefit the Snack Pack program.
Town meetings
The Burrillville Planning Board has cancelled the meeting originally scheduled for Monday, May 4, citing the town’s executive order declaring a state of emergency. Read the notice from Planning Board Vice Chairman Leo Felice here.
