Spring Lake, Grad video: Five things to know in Burrillville this week

Graduation video

Members of the Burrillville High School Class of 2020 have already received their diplomas, but the district still has plans to release a full video commencement, with segments spliced together to create a single ceremony.  The graduation video will feature pre-recorded speeches of honored guests administrators and recognized students.

The video is scheduled to be released on Friday, June 12 at 7 p.m. and can be viewed on the Burrillville School Department YouTube channel.

Spring Lake

Spring Lake beach opens for the season on Saturday, June 13 and will remain open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., weather permitting, through September. Not all activities and amenities will be open in 2020 due to Covid-19.

BPAC meeting

The Burrillville Prevention Action Coalition will hold their monthly meeting on Wednesday, June 10 via Zoom starting at 5 p.m. Local official will discuss, plan, and give updates on substance use prevention initiatives occurring within town and the region. Residents of Burrillville are always welcome and can join the meeting here.

Burrillville Farmer’s Market

The Burrillville Farmer’s Market opened for the season on Saturday, June 6 and will feature local food, art and music every Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Stillwater Mill Center through September 26.

Masks are required at the weekly events, and new this year will be a URI Community First Responder Booth with free Narcon Nasal spray kits & reduction supplies.

Town meetings

The Burrillville Planning Board will hold a virtual meeting on Monday, June 8 starting at 7 p.m. The agenda and instructions to join can be found here.

The Harrisville Fire District will hold a virtual meeting on Monday June 8 starting at 7 p.m. for an agenda found here.

The Pascoag Fire District will hold a virtual meeting on Monday, June 8 starting at 7 p.m. for an agenda found here.
