NORTH SMITHFIELD – A popular restaurant that was opened in Slatersville for just four months before it was forced to close in reaction to Covid-19 will reopen this week with new offerings in a renovated space.
Coffee & Cream, which has been closed since mid-March, will reopen on Wednesday, July 8 with temporary new hours from 7 a.m to noon through Sunday, July 12.
The restaurant closed in 2017 following a fire at its iconic prior location at the intersection of Smithfield Road and Providence Street, where it had operated for decades. It opened at Slatersville Plaza in November following a two-year closure.
Since the recent hiatus, owners Jonathan and Heather Branchaud obtained a liquor license with the hopes to serve beer and wine, and renovated the new space at 900 Victory Highway.
“With a lot of help we were able to complete our upstairs dining room so we’ll be able to spread out, make sure we’re social distancing correctly and still have a lot of table to offer everyone,” said Heather Branchaud in a post on social media.
The Branchauds also added four patio tables for outdoor dining.
“We’re so excited to welcome everyone back. We’ll be smiling underneath our face masks,” Brauchaud said.
