BLACKSTONE – Blackstone police have arrested an 18-year-old man after a complaint from a resident led to police finding some $10,000 worth of drugs including ecstasy, THC edibles and Xanax pills.

Zachary Pitler, 18 of Blackstone is facing charges of possession and intent to distribute for substances in Classes B, C and E following the incident.

Police reportedly received a call reporting drug activity at a home on Michelle Lane on Monday, July 13. As part of a subsequent investigation, officers conducted a search of the premises, according to police.

During a search, officers located and seized approximately 15 grams of powder ecstasy, 160 ecstasy pills, about 1,000 Xanax pills, approximately 100 THC edibles, 85 THC vape cartridges and 20 grams of THC wax and crystal products. The substances have an estimated street value of over $10,000.

Pitler was taken into custody without incident and was arraigned Tuesday, July 14 at Uxbridge District Court. Bail was set at $5,000.

According to a release from the Blackstone Police Department, the investigation remains ongoing, and Pitler may face additional charges.

“I’d like to thank the citizens who contacted police when they noticed suspicious activity. We always encourage our residents to call the department’s main line or anonymous tip line to help us in our efforts to protect the community,” said Blackstone Police Chief Gregory Gilmore.

“Our officers on scene did an excellent job taking the information they had, developing it into a solid case and arresting the suspect without incident,” Gilmore said. “Our department continues to work very hard to uphold the laws of the Commonwealth during these trying times, and to get this amount of harmful substances off the street is a tremendous result.”
