NORTH SMITHFIELD – A town-based company has been named as one of Rhode Island’s Best Places to Work by Providence Business News for the eighth consecutive year.

Banneker Supply Chain Solutions Inc. was among 65 Rhode Island employers named to the honor. The business is a provider of end-to-end supply chain management solutions including warehousing, e-commerce fulfillment, and distribution services.

The rankings for each honoree will be kept confidential with full results to be revealed at a Sept. 30 virtual event scheduled and published in the publication’s Oct. 2 issue.

“We are so humbled to once again be recognized as one of the region’s best places to work,” said Junior Jabbie, Banneker’s President & CEO. “This award is a reflection of all the hard work and dedication that all our team members across the country have invested to help us continuously improve each year and stay one of the best places to work. I am so honored to serve them.”

As one of the region’s largest Black-owned businesses, diversity and inclusion are central themes to life at Banneker, according to company officials.

“With persons of color representing 60 percent of our total workforce, I am proud of our leadership’s commitment to diversity and inclusion. Our company continues to grow. Currently, we have 15 open positions in Rhode Island,” said Diana Krys, human resources manager.
