Labor Day

There will be no trash or recycling pickup on Monday, Sept. 7 as the town celebrates Labor Day, and pick up will be delayed one day for the remainder of the week.

The holiday honors and recognizes the American labor movement, and the works and contributions of laborers to the country’s development and achievements. You can celebrate by supporting local businesses, or showing your support for the labor movement by buying union made brands, such as those listed by the Union Label & Service Trades Department in the attached photos.

Town offices set to reopen

Burrillville town offices will be opening to the public for walk-in services, with restrictions, starting the week of September 14.

Due to ongoing COVID-19 exposure, the town will be setting certain rules and directions for the general public to enter buildings and facilities.

“The health and safety of everyone is critical, especially to keep the virus from resurging,” noted a release from the town.

All services are still being offered, but some of the smaller offices will not allow the public into the office itself. Residents are asked to use online services if possible or call the department beforehand.
