Riverwalk fun

Visit Jesse Smith Memorial Library today, Monday, Nov. 2, for outdoor games on the Riverwalk. The library will have Giant Connect 4, Flarts & ladder ball and more from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Participants must be age two and older and wear masks, and social distancing rules will be followed.

Election Day

While many in town have voted early, Tuesday, Nov. 3 is Rhode Island’s official Election Day, and polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Early voting at the American Legion Hall ends at 4 p.m. today.

To cast your ballot on Tuesday, find your polling location here. Town Hall and Town Hall Annex will be closed on Tuesday, but the Burrillville Board of Canvassers will be available for any elections business. The doors will be open and staff will be available to answer the phones. Those with questions are instructed to call 568-4300 x180 or send an email to [email protected].

Opening delay

The opening of the new Diesel Fuel Bakery, originally scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 1 has seen a slight delay as owners look to secure all needed permits. The new tentative date opening date for the business is Friday, Nov. 13.

Leftover scares

If you’re looking to get rid of candy that you didn’t pass out on Halloween, a local Girl Scout troop is having a party this week and is accepting donations. To learn more contact Stacey Lyn.

And if you haven’t had your full of other-worldly fun this fall, two events next weekend could help satisfy your thirst for the unknown.

Paige the Rhode Island Medium will host a Psychic Fair at 13 Sherman Farm Road on Saturday, Nov. 7 from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.  The theme will be NewAge old medieval time frame with vendors and psychic readers, and vendors and guests are invited to dress up for the event.

Also on Saturday, Karen Tatro Spirit Medium has invited guests to spend the night at The Conjuring House for an investigation. Tickets for this event have sold out, but more have been scheduled in 2021. The cost is $175. Learn more here.

Town meetings

The Burrillville Planning Board will hold a regular meeting on Monday, Nov. 2 starting at 7 p.m. The agenda and instructions to attend virtually are here.
