Armed suspect robs Burrillville bank

BURRILLVILLE – Burrillville police are investigating the robbery of a Pascoag bank in which a suspect reportedly showed a teller a handgun and obtained money before fleeing the scene on foot Tuesday morning.

According to Burrillville Police Col. Stephen Lynch, the Rhode Island Credit Union at 60 N. Main St. was robbed at around 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 1.

Lynch said the robber, believed to be a white male, was wearing a mask at the time of the crime.

Burrillville officers were assisted in the investigation by the Rhode Island State Police Crime Scene Unit and Glocester police, who Lynch said responded initially to search the area.

Lynch said an investigation of the robbery is still ongoing and the amount of money taken is undetermined at this time.
