Jesse Smith receives $55K grant
Jesse Smith Memorial Library has announced that the facility recently received a $55,400 grant from The Champlin Foundation.
The funding will be used to replace the carpeting on the first floor of the library.
Winter coat pop-up
Berean Baptist Church will hold a free winter coat pop-up event on Friday, Dec. 18 at Brigido’s IGA on 54 Sayles Ave. in Pascoag from 3 to 5 p.m. The church will have an assortment of free coats available for children and adults.
The church’s Family Clothing Exchange is temporarily closed due to COVID-19, but organizers are able to service families on an individual basis if they call and leave contact information. The “Helping Hands” Food Pantry also offers grocery bags of pantry staples such as pasta, sauce, canned vegetables, tuna, etc., to local families in need.

Snow on the way
The National Weather Service’s hazardous weather outlook for this week notes that the potential exists for a winter storm late Wednesday into Thursday, which could bring heavy snow to much of the area.
Projections vary, but some of the latest reports call for eight to 12 inches Wednesday evening, with another 1 to 3 inches to accumulate Thursday morning.
Popcorn for the Class of 2022
The Burrillville High School Class of 2022 is hosting an online popcorn fundraiser to help offset the cost of their junior-senior prom tickets.
