BURRILLVILLE – The Fearless Dino Protector Squad “Safe Kitchen, Safe You,” Campaign’s burn prevention coloring cartoons remind kids and adults about the importance of home fire safety and burn prevention.

Stoves can get very hot, and so can pots and pans when cooking meals for the family. It is very important to make sure kids do not get too close to stoves or touch pots and pans when cooking meals. The kid’s stove safe zone is a three foot distance that helps keep them safer from unintentional burns in apartments and homes. Kids should avoid stoves when cooking altogether.

Kids also need to learn not to be afraid of firefighters and should be taught to go to them for their safety. Most kids run and hide when dealing with fires and that’s why they need to know a firefighter wearing fire safety suits and gear are there to help and rescue them.

Parents, guardians, librarians and teachers are encouraged to print out these burn prevention and firefighter rescue coloring cartoons and discuss the safety tips with children while coloring in the images together as a family.
