NORTH SMITHFIELD – A 51-year-old North Smithfield man was arrested at Traveler’s Motor Lodge after a noise complaint led to police watching video evidence of him destroying his neighbor’s gallon of milk.
Shane Chandronette was charged with vandalism and disorderly conduct following the incident on Wednesday, Feb. 24. Chandronette also had an open warrant for previous charges, according to police.
Police were called to the motel around 10:30 p.m. for a noise disturbance according to reports.
Chandronette, who officers noted appeared intoxicated, said that the noise wasn’t coming from his room and that his neighbor, “was beating his wife.”
“Shane kept laughing through the entire conversation,” the report notes.
He later admitted to throwing the milk, taken from a bag of groceries left outside the neighboring room, as well as banging on the walls. Surveillance video showed Chandronette grabbing the one gallon jug and slamming it to the ground.
The 52-year-old victim told police he wanted to press charges, and Chandronette was transported to the ACI.
Police also arrested a 49-year-old Leominster, Mass. man last week on felony charges of carrying a pistol without a license.
Sang Ha was also taken in on a bench warrant after he was pulled over by police on Thursday, March 4.
The gun, a .22 caliber Ruger LCP II was under the seat of the vehicle, along with two magazines and 20 rounds of ammunition. Ha told police he had a permit to carry the gun in Massachusetts but not Rhode Island.
