NORTH SMITHFIELD – The North Smithfield Police Department has received grant funding to purchase safety equipment from the Rhode Island Interlocal Risk Management Trust.
Funding from the trust’s Safety Enhancement Grant Program is designed to provide assistance to members for the purchase of safety equipment or services that would help to reduce the frequency or severity of claims, according to a release on the award from the NSPD.
The $998 grant, received on Wednesday, March 17, will reportedly be used for the purchase of traffic cones and traffic vests.
