NORTH SMITHFIELD – An event on Saturday allowed local families to visit with the Easter bunny and even receive some holiday treats, all while maintaining a safe distance to avoid spreading the virus.

Police, fire and Department of Public Works vehicles set up around the circle in front of the former Halliwell Elementary School in the morning, later moving to North Smithfield Elementary School for a second event in the afternoon.
